Andean Community
The Andean Community is a subregional organization
endowed with an international legal status, which
is made up of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and
Venezuela and the bodies and institutions comprising
the Andean Integration System (AIS).
Centro de Investigación de los Movimientos
Sociales del Ecuador (CEDIME)
El CEDIME es una entidad sin fines de lucro que ha
ido cambiando en sus actividades a medida que la realidad
del Ecuador lo ha exigido. Moldeada primero en preocupaciones
de investigación social, ha incorporado las
actividades de educación y capacitación,
finalmente las de un desarrollo sustentable que no
minimiza las urgencias de lo equitativo en derechos
y recursos.
Centro Boliviano de Estudios Multidisciplinarios (CEBEM)
El Centro Boliviano de Estudios Multidisciplinarios
(CEBEM) es una asociación sin fines de lucro
que se dedica a la investigación multidisciplinaria
y a la docencia a nivel de postgrado en el campo de
las ciencias sociales. El criterio fundamental que
guía las actividades del CEBEM, como centro
privado y autónomo dedicado a la investigación,
es el de desarrollar sustancialmente la reflexión
y la discusión de problemáticas significativas
en la sociedad boliviana a partir de perspectivas
multidisciplinarias y enfoques metodológicos
consistentes, y el de difundir la producción
intelectual a través de publicaciones y la
realización de seminarios y talleres. Las actividades
del CEBEM se basan principalmente en la investigación
selectiva de problemas centrales que la sociedad boliviana
confronta actualmente, poniendo particular énfasis
en la dimensión de carácter comparativo
de cuestiones comunes que vinculan el caso boliviano
con el desarrollo de otros países de América
Latina, especialmente del área andina.

The Centre for International Policy is a non-profit
organization that promotes a U.S. foreign policy based
on international cooperation, demilitarization and
respect for basic human rights. It's program on Colombia
offers a comprehensive source of information and analysis
about Colombia's conflict, peaceful efforts to end
it, and the United States' increasing military involvement.
Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO)- Ecuador
La Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales
es un organismo internacional de carácter regional
y autónomo, que surge de la decisión
de la Conferencia General de la UNESCO celebrada en
1956 con el fin de apoyar a los países de América
Latina en la creación de una Facultad de Ciencias
Sociales que cubra los intereses científico-sociales
de la región y genere un espacio de reflexión,
hasta entonces inexistente, desde el cual se impulse
el desarrollo de nuestras sociedades.

linkages bewteen unversities, government and private
sector in research on economic policy and development.

Human Rights Watch is an independent, non-governmental
organization dedicated to protecting the human rights
of people around the world.

International Institute for Democracy & Electoral Assistance (IDEA)
IDEA is an intergovernmental organization that seeks
to support sustainable democracy in both new and long-established
democracies. It draws on comparative experience, analyses
democracy trends and assistance, and develops policy
options, tools and guidelines relating to political
participation, political parties, electoral systems
and post-conflict democracy-building.
Latin American Network Information Center (LANIC)
LANIC's mission is to facilitate access to Internet-based
information to, from, or on Latin America. Its target
audience includes people living in Latin America,
as well as those around the world who have an interest
in this region. While many of its resources are designed
to facilitate research and academic endeavors, the
site is also an important gateway to Latin America
for teachers and students, private and public sector
professionals, and individuals looking for information
about the region.
Latinobarómetro
Latinobarómetro is an annual public opinion
survey carried out in 17 Latin American countries
by the Corporación Latinobarómetro.
It expresses the opinions, attitudes, and behaviours
of the around 400 million inhabitants of the region.
The survey started in 8 countries in the region in
1995 and extended to 17 countries in 1996. It is a
private, non-profit initiative for use by the social
and political sectors of the region.
National Democratic Institute (NDI)
The National Democratic Institute for International
Affairs (NDI) is a nonprofit organization working
to strengthen and expand democracy worldwide. Calling
on a global network of volunteer experts, NDI provides
practical assistance to civic and political leaders
advancing democratic values, practices and institutions.
NDI works with democrats in every region of the world
to build political and civic organizations, safeguard
elections, and to promote citizen participation, openness
and accountability in government.

Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA)
WOLA primary role is to function as a key resource
and interlocutor for Latin American non-governmental
organizations (NGO's) working for human rights and
social justice. WOLA also plays an important role
in fostering dialogue, debate, and policy-consensus
among U.S. and Latin American NGO's with diverse perspectives
that share the same goals. WOLA plays a leadership
role in several advocacy coalitions and regularly
organizes workshops, conferences, roundtables, and
